Lost my Desert Eagle gas piston...

I am doubtful they will have a gas piston in stock, but Al Simmons in Hamilton is also a Magnum Research dealer, so they should be able to order it for you.

However, I recently required a new safety lever mounting screw for my old DE.
I was about to call Simmons, but thought I'd try contacting Magnum Research myself to see if they could ship the part directly to me.

I went on line and obtained the part number I required.

I called the Magnum Research repair number to confirm the part number was correct for my model, the fellow said I had the correct part number, he asked me if I wanted to purchase the part. I told him I lived in Canada and it was tough to obtain parts for most US made guns here, especially DE's. The fellow said that was not a problem, he took my MC number, mailing address and a screw set arrived in the mail the next week!! Screw set and shipping came to just over $20.00

Sure beat messing around with a gun store as a 'middle man'.

You may want to give them a try on Monday (they are probably closed today) and give it a shot.

Good luck.

The lesson here is....don't hesitate to contact the 'source' directly.
I've had pretty good luck contacting manufacturers directly, particularly, if it's a small part that you need.
Going through the 'distributor' can become a lesson in patience...and futility...so you have nothing to lose by sending an email, detailing the problem, and what you require.
After all...don't we all live in Hope?:)

Gas piston solve it

Would it be possible to order spare Desert Eagle parts from you guys?

Specifically the gas piston.

If your lucky to find one at the cost you might be better off making one
Just use 4140 steel which fairly strong and hard
A machinist could probably make one within an hour if he's worth his weight
Even if he can't do and you got a friend who has a lathe
You only have to turn the piston size and the holding shaft
File the 2 flat surfaces until it fits
Allow 3 to 5 thousands of clearance to start with. then slowly take more off if you need it

Hope that gives you a simple solution
