I wrote my PAL test a couple of years ago, but I didn't send it off to the gov to get my card. I have since misplaced my tests. Is there a way to get a copy of the scores from the person who administered the test? Or do I have to go do it again?

I think the examiner sends a copy of your score to the government. I do not know how long they keep it though.

Ask for a copy of your file under a freedom of information act request, they will send it to you and everything else they have.

Dial 1 800 731 4000 (make sure you have abook to read and a coffee because they can be busy) Once you have a human to talk to the rest is easy. They can confirm that they have you in the system as having passed the course, then all you do is send in your application without your course report and it will process through just fine.

How did you get to keep the test scores?

As above, examiner should have it.

When I wrote my exams there were three copies. The instructor kept one for his records and gave me the other two - one of which I sent off with my application and the other was to keep for my records.

I think the gun friendly provinces give you a copy of the test results, while in ON the Instructor sends it in to the CFO without giving you a copy. I was give copies both times I took the tests. I took the regular non restricted when I was 16 but never sent in an app. and then lost the papers. Two years ago when I wanted a PAL/RPAL I just challenged both tests instead of trying to track down my paper work and sent in my app. when I passed.

Phone the CFC and ask them to look it up then ask what year you wrote it. Write that in the box and then write ON FILE. I did it too a couple years ago

In my daughters case they lost things completely, but in that case they got to be able to track it down

No in Ontario, your instructor is to give you the copies and you send it in. At least when I did mine that was the case.

Rules in Ontario have changed...the instructor/examiner is to submit everything now...they don't give you any paperwork to submit anymore. But, in any case, all you need to do is call CFC. They will have your information on file. One thing about the overly bureaucratic process Canada has in place is that the overflowing paper trail makes it possible for individuals in your shoes to get what they need.

It should be the exact same everywhere.
1 copy for Student submission with application
1 copy to Prov CFO
1 copy to Miramichi
1 copy to stay with instructor.

As per Justice forms. Not saying that's how it goes always, but those are the directions.
