Not sure if this is the right place to ask this or not. A coworker did the firearms test about 18 months ago. He was succesful, but didn't fill the application out right away. He has checked with the CFC and they will still honour his test results but he can't find the paperwork. He has an email in to the guy that did the test to see if he has a copy still. Since we are on nights tonight I told him I would ask on here and see if anyone else had ideas on what he can do, or has been through the same thing. Worst case is I guess he would have to pony up some dough and challenge the exam again?

Doesn't matter, at least not in my case. I waited over 3 years I think it was (maybe more, maybe less). My test results for both NR and R got damaged by cooking oil (makes the paper become translucent and the ink is no longer visible). Filled out everything and sent in the paperwork. CFC gets a copy of the exam anyway so it seems it is more for a paper trail than anything else.

I think it differs from individual to individual. I tested nearly 15 years ago and was given all copies (Including the examiners copy) of my paperwork. It was my responsibility to mail the appropriate copy into the CFP. So, if he was given all copies and lost all copies then he's screwed.

Hopefully the examiner kept his copy or remembers him and is willing to help.

The results should be in the firearms program database as instructors have had to submit course/test paperwork to the CFOs. In Ontario instructors haven't been allowed to keep a copy of the forms since September, 2008 (if I recall correctly). Someone who did the test in Ontario can call the Ontario CFO at 1-800-731-4000 x 7503 to confirm that the test results are on file.
