A number of years ago, I was given a new Benjamin 22 for shooting grouse while I was deer hunting. For the first two seasons, it worked great on grouse and rabbits. Then, all of a sudden I noticed a severe loss in velocity to the point where I can easily see the pellet flying through the air, and the pellet doesn't even hit a grouse hard enough to stun it.
Does anybody have a fix, or know if there is some sort of rebuild kit available?

Thanks,
X

Have you tried posting airgun forum on www.network54.com ,there`s always someone on there that can help and maybe even repair it for you . From my experience it sound like you have a bad seal ,should be easy enough to fix ,have you e mailed Crosman they should be able to help as well .

Are you talking about the multi-pump pneumatic? If so, have you been lubing the piston with Crosman pellgunoil? If you dont' the seals dry up over time, although 2 years is not that long. For parts try Eric at www.scopesandammo.com. I've ordered a few items from him in the past and I've been more than happy with the service.

No don't use pellgunoil, use crosman silicone chamber oil.

Yeah you can buy the rebuild kit, or spend a bit more to retrofit it with a nitro piston.

It is the multi pump pneumatic. There is a hole that would appear to be a lubrication point, but it says not to put oil in there (it stamped right onto the pistol)

Where can I find the retrofit kit? scopesandammo.com as well?

Thanks for the replies

For a multi-pump you won't find a nitro piston kit. Different animal. You probably need a piston seal and/or a valve seal. Eric at scopesandammo is your best bet for the right parts.

Ah okay, I thought you were talking about another model. So yeah google how to replace the seal, it's not hard.

Be aware that scopesandammo charges a high penalty fee if your order don't exceed a certain amount ($25?), and if you choose to use credit card payment there's additional penalty as well.

Here is the answer I got from Scopesandammo:

Hello:

Use the Search feature on our website and type in "HB22".

Thank-you.

The only thing they have is a HB22 pistol. Google isn't being very helpful, either. I've searched "Benjamin Sheridan HB22 seal replacement" and "Benjamin Sheridan HB22 Repair"

Any other suggestions?
