Lots of KSG's at Epps

Well said!

You can't find a use for a gun that's smaller than any other off the shelf, non-restricted shotgun or PDW type gun, and that holds 15 shells total with the ability to select between two types of ammunition at will? Again, I repeat, all non-restricted.

As a guy that spends more of his life in the bush than out, I sure can. It's even good for hunting.

Pretty has nothin to do with it. :)

I think it's funny that a few months ago Ksg's were selling on the EE for between 2500 and 3000 dollars and now they are abundant and going for around 1300.

I wouldn't call them abundant by any means but the rarity of the KSG is not what it once was. I had three of them up until this evening. Sold one on the EE for retail plus shipping with a Kydex cheek cover. What's even better is the member that got it had one of the originals but was forced to sell it due to an injury. He's all better now and ready to join the 15 round crowd :)

One place I never look anymore, is Epp's. Can't navigate their website.

When you start to understand it, got 3 or 4 great deals since they changed it, look for the green #.... My Browning A-bolt ll Target 308 was 1400.00 and they sold it to me at 999.99, that was a good deal... JP.

They are fun and cheap for what your get, Kel-tec released a huge shipment, The vault Distributer said they up'd there last delivery by 300% but will soon settle and i'm sure ill get the crazy offers for mine.

Get them while you can!!!

bang bang and shoot safe fellow gun nutz!!!!!!!!

If they dont have a good website (by some one else standards) then call them, whats with people these days. If the internet stopped tomorrow would you just shutdown?

I have purchased many items from them all by phone, if you want images either call and ask for them to be sent to you if its a used item or use google.

The average consumers don't want all this aisle. They miss alot of sale and instead of paying for a quality website of 10 000$ they close their eyes.

whats hard, look up kel-tec in the search, don't need pics if its a new gun and you know what you are looking for, most other places its just the stock pic from kel-tec anyway

Please tell me, what problem you are having with the new site? You are now able to search by manufacturer, by firearm type, whether new or used, and even by calibre grouping. There is even an Advanced Search link on the upper right-hand corner that will allow you to fine-tune a search for more detailed listings.

If you simply wish to browse the site to see what is new, you can select the SORT BY drop-down menu at the top of the firearms listing, then choose from several different options, including DATE ADDED. The small arrow to the right of the drop-down screen allows you to select which order you wish to view that listing -- whether oldest to newest, or newest to oldest entry.

You can even sort by Price, by Condition, by Make, Model, Action or Calibre.

Truly, this new website should be far more accessible than the previous version where you had to scroll through page upon page of listings for individual manufacturers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our store at your convenience.

The only problem i have with your website is the lack of image.

EPPS had some issues with the web site but those are in the past now.

Without getting too complicated, go to "advanced search" (top right corner), then "firearm makes" (top left corner) and there you go: all firearm brands in alphabetical order.

Epps have always have nice and hard to find guns in stock.

This is the absolute truth. I didn't think I'd ever see another Browning Buckmark URX Contour 5.5" for sale. I had previously sat around ho-humming about one I saw there and P&D. My procrastination left me with a full wallet and nightmares full of regret. They recently brought one in and I snapped it up as soon as I saw it.

Hey Ardent,
I had the chance to take a look at one of the first KSG shotguns in Canada. Here were my initial thoughts on it.

Lineofsight received his KSG so of course I checked it out.

I actually like it. It's compact and points nicely. The trigger is very good as well. I like how it loads underneath much like the 870 which I'm very familiar with. Overall the quality felt pretty decent. I didn't take it apart but the initial feeling wasn't one of a cheap gun. I would buy one.

I do however think they should have done the bottom rail like that of the RFB where it's a metal add on or have it come with a metal bottom rail. That being said go for the angled grip if going to use a grip. Lots of guys in the states also reporting broken rails.

A couple of things about the KSG I noticed.

1) You can't do a single shot load on the fly. Or "tactical" reload when the tube magazine is empty. Ie slam one in the ejection port and feed it through without going to the mag tube first. Simply the KSG ejects out the bottom and not the side. The flip side to this is of course that the KSG is ambi or lefty friendly.

2) For the 870 a lot of us for work use a cheat. We do our mechanical and safety inspection. But after putting the fore end forward and squeezing the trigger, we then put the safety on and load 4 for duty. When a police shotgun is stored in the car it has an empty chamber and 4 in the tube mag. Now what this trick of not resetting the trigger does is allow you to jump out and rack the shotgun to load it without using the action bar to release the fore end. It's common to jump out of the car and try to rack the shotgun only to have it stick. The WTF then oh ya the action bar usually is the reaction. Well with the 870 you can do this trick and have the safety on. With the KSG you can not activate the safety if you do this. Which means you're not going to use this trick. If for any reason the fore end ever slipped and loaded a round the safety wouldn't be on. Not a good idea. Plus the safety wouldn't be on when you went to chamber a round using this trick and the KSG.

Something else to consider. A semi auto shotgun will get off a lot more rounds without the loss of accuracy by having to manually use the fore end to load another round. Semi auto is the way to go. Police only use the 870 because it's tried/true, cheap and Cops are like teenagers who break everything they come in contact with. Mostly it's cheap.

I haven't fired the KSG. Just a quick look at one. The KSG's compactness, the trigger and the amount of ammo it holds are all very nice features. I do like it better than the 870.

My current choice has been the Hatsun MPA semi auto. I have an overfolder coming for it. Although usually not a fan of overfolders this one has received good reviews unlike the crap ones previously used with the 870 police shotguns. That being said for a "Backpack" shotgun the KSG wold be a better bet simply because I wouldn't trust a semi auto in a backpack loaded. That empty chamber could be not empty with a wrong bump.

Sorry, but WHAT?? You are never going to get enough inertia to cycle a bolt/load a chamber with a "bump".

If you have the bolt back and ready to go with a round in the magazine and it's bumped it could very well cycle the round. With the Hatsun there is a second "gate" at the bottom that locks the bolt forward for loading. Think of it like a bolt release.

You're right however if you have it forward and set up to rack the bolt back manually. Wasn't really thinking about it that way. Also on the Hatsun there is a button that disconnects the magazine from feeding. I'm not sure exactly how that works yet. Hope to try it out soon.
