Low budget tactical

155mm howizer loaded with a charge 7 and 90-130 3/4to 7/8 inch lead balls lets see a bear walk away from that

the next best thing to a rilfed barrel is a cylinder bore choke for slugs as it has less recoil

now i'd say a 20 inch barrel solid folding stock mag extender sights and rifled barrel and slugs is reliable for me

my fire arms instructor says a 12 doulbe barrel with 0 buck in the second chamber and a slug in the first hit the nose then blow out it's eyes it has no way of finding you and has take a sever hit he has the years of fire arms knolages to know what he's talking about but i'll stick with a pump witthis load out

armour percing slugs which as far as i can tell are legal and will pover penitrate cauing lots of damage in the chamber

standard slug for the second shot as well as the third 0

buck for the forth

and the rest a niftyl ittle contraption that is for last resort flame thrower rounds to the bears face will cause mass tisue dammage should the other shots not work

thought untested on game flame thrower rounds are not what one would call humain i would never carry them for hunting as they cause mas tramma but to get a bear to back down i think they would be quite effective

and one last shot of your choice if you fail cause if a bear survives that your gonna wanna kake sure it's painless

You forgot Claymores.............

lol yeah the standard militry ones are to small so what i'll do is get a large metal gun cabnet and mod it into one lol can you say WMD i had typed up how but took it out i can give you the directions of you really want themit would probly be 4 to 5 times more power full then the litle man portable ones

enough stupidity though really a good solid folding stock and a mid length barrel not exactly compact 20 to 18 1/2 maybe 16 inches will be compact enought to carry easly and have decent range and heck could even be used to take birds in a survival situation all ways carry more then what you need a few bird shells will be worthless against a bear but may save you life a 12 inch barrel will be useless in the sense great if your want a super compact gun but really unless you carry a longer barrel in your kit singularly suited to one task

on the reverse use actual tactical situations i saw a pic of a US marine with what looked like a 7 shoot extention meaning at least a 26 inch barrel so really tactical doesn't have to be super compact and remeber the us militry issue shot guns only for CQB and i don't know about any other variants being issued any one able to help with that

some fine shot guns though a good starting point 870 express for like $400 and you have a 3 1/2 inch magnum wich is more then suited for any task

I find it interesting how a forum started as "low budget tactical" ends up as "what to use for bear defence" and it progresses to military stuff. That's why I love CGN.

well thats a complex theory know as conection theory where the mind conects two subjects

the bear thing is connected to the tactical shot gun as is is compacxt and reliable the mility came into it by describing an effective shot gun for bear defence and here we are

I have a budget shotty too....It's a 870 express coated with krylon, heat sheild, tasco red dot (the cheap one), R3 recoil pad and hogue foreend.
(I'ts painted for high visibilty so I dont lose it out side and as a rust preventative)

In case an aligator jumps out of the bush and bites my #### off and I drop it.

Your gun looks kind of cool, however if a BC aligator were to bite my #### off, then the location of my shottie would be the very least of my concerns since my #### is already missing at that point and shooting the BC aligator (what ever the f**k that's supposed to be) won't bring it back to me in any usefull condition. :D
Here we go again, going from low budget tactical shotguns to aligators that bite dicks off. You've got to love it!

yeah better to shoot the gator before it bites it off skin and gut him and roast him on a spit and make him into a romantic dinner for the misses and then give her the gator skin purse you had made/made with the skin and get it on in the tent :dancingbanana: if your incapable of this i'll shoot the gator and since you dickless i'll take your wife to :p :D

Cant help but feel this went a little off topic.... :D

Anyway alligators aren't much problem out here in bc. It's the squirrels you have to worry about. Killer squirrels. Go right for the nuts.

I've thought about picking up one of those crazy 88's and putting a knoxx recoil reducing stock on it - either their tactical stock or their new folder. It would really help soak up some of that recoil and still look pretty good.

Shot gun is from WholeSale, barrel shroud from SIR, folding stock from a fellow Canadian gun nut and panted it my self with Kreylon. Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out. Could have been allot better if I had my own airbrush. I find the barrel shroud was a must; this barrel must be thiner then my police shotgun because I have to throw allot of heavy rounds down range before the barrel gets to hot to handle.
