In my considerations to take into account when looking at rimfire firearms, I was curious if such a thing as low lead or leadless rimfire ammunition (.22 lr specifically) exists, to anyone's knowledge.

From what I can find, it doesn't seem to, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

From my knowledge there is no such thing as non-lead bullets for 22lr (except maybe those stupid little shot rounds) however, you can get plated bullets like CCI stingers that are plated with copper I believe.

Oh, just to clarify when I say leadless I mean emits no (or almost no) lead vapour (a la WinClean) rather than using steel bullets or something.

And yeah, plated is good, but I'm thinking in terms of the lowest lead emissions possible (so CMJ type ammo).

i believe quick shoks don't use lead bullets, though i don't know about the primer and whatnot. it's probably the closest to leadfree you'll find right now.
