Just curious. What is your least pain in the butt, practicle firearm? Mine is a SS Finnlight. I would have to say my runner up is my 1903 Springfield. Otherwise all of the rest require undivided attention to keep them in tip top shape. I find it frustrating when I have to constantly clean and oil to maintain them. Is this a manufacturing quality issue, or me just being lazy? Oh yah. I am talkin' appearance and not action/bore.
 
i keep buying Rem 700's because they've yet to give me a hint of problems. Most guns will last lifetimes if properly cared for
 
i do not believe it's a manufacturing issue at all. my least maintanence is a rem 700 BDL SS, but even stainless needs to be cleaned or it to will rust. if you use guns in the weather they have to be maintained to look good and that's the price you pay with any gun. if maintained they will last many lifetimes.
 
Glock... Been abused severely and doesn't show it... My long arms need a little tlc via oil and cleaning...

you dont even have to clean it - i think i read of some guy that shot around 10k rounds out of his without cleaning, heh.
theyre minute-of-Muskox at 100 yards but you gotta give it to Ruger (and the Garand design he copied), theyre one of the most reliable semi-auto designs ever made.

other than that, pretty much any stainless bolt gun. i only wish every little part was stainless on every stainless gun - many companies were skimping and putting blued trigger groups, safeties, bolt components, etc on them.
 
Remington 700 Stainless Synthetic in 280 Rem. Three shots at the range prior to hunting - one shot and the season is over. Ten years old now and should last a life time
 
browning stainless stalkers. i have hunting more in the rain then not including river hunting and mountain hunting. of the two that i have moved on and changed calibers the only maintainence was a rubdown of what i could see and get to without taking it apart. never a problem with any.

2X Browning Stainless Stalker - it is my bad weather rifle.

Come to think of it, I only use it in rain and snow conditions. Hardly any maintenance other than cleaning.
 
For big bore rifles I would have to pick the pre 64 Winchester lever rifles.

For small bore auto loading rifles I would have to pick the Remington Nylon 66,10c line of rifles.

For pump shotguns the Remington 870 or Winchester Model 12 would be my picks.
 
An old p-17 churchill enfield. It rides around with me every where and gets a polish occasionaly. Its riden hundreds of miles either in a truck or a tractor. Works great and never gives me a problem like some of the others.
 
Remington Sportsman 12A (basically an early model 1100)...

Its rusty, and usually dirty, heavy as hell too. It never fails to shoot reliably but it's not really that pretty. Great truck gun.

I think I'm going to have her painted to spruce up her now faded camo.
 
my 338 vandgard has never given me any problems. it stays zeroed after months of riding under my leg in the saddle.

just put new rings on it last week and sited it in again and it was only 4 inches off zero at a 100
