Check them for what? Bringing ammo to shoot while they are hunting in Canada? They are allowed to bring a specified amount each trip and often make multiple trips between spring and fall seasons. Almost all free-lancers do. Pretty much the only visiting US hunters that don't are the ones going with outfitters. If you've ever seen the trunk loads of swag some of these industry pro's bring to the outfitters to hand out you may be in for a big surprise.

Yeah, a guy offered to bring me some Boss ammo a couple of years ago. The whole thing gave me a "Flowers By Ivan" vibe. I enjoy taking my kids to Florida and have no interest in being wrapped up in some sort of "Conspiracy to Traffic Firearms" kind of jackpot with DHS and BATFE.

Getting a 20 gauge press might make sense. Winchester 572 is one of the few currently available powders and Hodgdon lists a 7/8 oz recipe with 8100 psi peak pressure for 1150 ft/s. It is listed as a 2 3/4" folded crimp load and I make them that way for my modern gun but cut & rollcrimp for a short-chambered 20. Seems to be a nice load.
