Hey,
Wondering if anyone knows of any low profile folding BUIS options out there? I just picked up a T97, and now have my eye on the FTU, and naturally, an optics setup for it.
I'd like to mount a red dot, probably a Vortex Sparc 2, and hopefully have a set of buis as well. I'm assuming that given the nature of the FTU, using the 37mm mount that would usually allow for absolute co-witness with standard irons would be pretty tall and make for an awkward cheek weld. I'm wondering if there's a shorter set of BUIS out there that would allow use of the lower 18mm or 21mm mounts and still co-witness, while still being out of the line of site when folded down?
The only thing I can seem to find is the Troy Micro sights, as they are designed for raised rail systems, but I'm not sure how they'd co-witness with a low mounted optic. Is there anything similar out there, perhaps for less than $200 a set?
If my thoughts aren't clear, let me know and I'll try and re-phrase, it's getting late.
