My usual excellent gunsmith is no longer accepting jobs as he is heading to a well deserved retirement.

I am looking for gunsmith recommendations for the following job: Remington 7400, shorten barrel to 18.6", thread barrel 28 TPI x 0.5", drill out A2 birdcage for .308 Win, re-install front sight 0.5" back from the new crown, full disassemble and clean, especially gas spigot and bolt and firing pin.

Dlask will do it all except for the front sight re-install so any recommendations will be appreciated.

Following because I'm also in the Lower Mainland and that's a good question.

Worth mentioning, although not local to us, Spencer at Advent Arms on Vancouver Island is awesome to deal with. He used to work at Dlask, he does some bolt gun work and he does nice custom 870 shotguns. Not sure if it applies for your needs but I figure it is worth noting down at least, and maybe it helps you out.
I have a 14" 870 that he built for me and I'd recommend him to anyone. It's one hell of a short barrelled shotgun

Who would know better than Remington ? Did you contact them ? (Yes, it's not the samne model, but still...)
