No other manufacturer is going to come close to this price for a machined billet lower.
This is even cheaper than the least expensive forged lowers. Can there be any other choice?

I agree with Greentips - if you need a basic lower, get whatever the lowest cost 7075 forged type III coated is at the time.
There are reasons to use a billet lower, but may shooters will never have those reasons apply to them.
Think of it this way, really, the lower is only a vessel for holdign the fire control group. The upper is a far more important part of the firearm.
