Hey guys,
What is the lowest mount/rings or directmount available for a SA 700?
I prefer the picatiny road but it this case lowest is the goal so I can do without.
No need to worry about objective size as it's a "straight" 24mm)
I've been looking into this for a little while but asking here is always a good idea... Thanks!

The lowest setup you can find is probably the Weaver, using the old-style Weaver rings with the asymmetrical, wrap-around style of cover. It's also the ugliest! It takes a bit fiddling to get the tops tightened without rotating the scope out of level, and will probably take several attempts to get it right. Once done, it's a very solid, serviceable assembly. It can be quick-detached and replaced with very good return-to-zero.

Keep in mind that when you get this low, you have to watch the interference between the eyepiece and the bolt handle in the raised position.

Probably the lowest ones you'll be able to find are Talley Lightweight One-Piece rings, Ex-Low. As mentioned, I'd be concerned about the bolt handle contacting the eyepiece when using really low rings. Maybe stick to the Low rings instead of the Ex-Low to be sure.

maybe sticking with picatiny would be worth it: I figure even x-low rings would clear the bolt if they are coupled with a picatiny mount no?

I'm thinking TPS alloy 20 MOA mount/x-low rings might be my best option... anybody run these?

Played with hundreds of combos on 700's ^^ He's right !! They are ugly but rock solid even used them on .416. Never get as low with pic rail
