I’m looking to get in to a 223 platform and have very little need for a range only gun so what are my options I want to spend as little as possible as the gun will be bought to take advantage of low cost non corrosive ammo. Am I stuck with a mini or is there something I’m not seeing ?

Sorry man, in the inexpensive ballpark, you're looking for the mini or the AR180b-2...unless I'm missing something as well!

I don't know what you consider lo-cost..
Cheap (~1000) you are looking at Mini's, You can probably find them cheaper used..

223 in my eyes is cheap at .50 cents a shot thats a hell of alot cheper than any 7.62x51 i can find. and if there was run of chep 308 i would have no need for 223 but i dont see that in the next year so a ar-180b might be the one im looking at time to research. thanks guys
they made an sks chambered in .223?? tell me more.
Either way isn't a bad route for him to go, IMO.
I own both, and don't regret either purchase.

such a beast exists, but is rarer than a unicorn. maybe an importer should be looking at getting some in for around 300ish.
I just got 400 Rounds of Norinco .308 today for $100.00 ($5 a box - $0.25 a round)Hopefully going to get some more tomorrow...
