LPVO on a rimfire?

Anyone using one? Thinking of putting one on my . 22 and will be primary used for hunting and some target practice. Currently have a Z3 3-9 X 40 but find 3 power a bit much for small critters inside 30 yards. Was looking at VX 3 or VX 5 1-5 or the Amplus 6 1-6 figuring the 1 power would be great for poking around the bush and 5 would be adequate for target practice out to 100. The 3-9 is nice glass and I have dialed the diopter to focus at closer range and then adjust for shooting at distance, maybe not ideal but works well.

I will agree that the 3x can be a little to much powder depending on what you're looking at. My first rimfire was open sights and I did fairly well with that. I currently have a VX-Freedom 3-9x33 EFR Fine Duplex with a reticle swap to the Tri-MOA. It has been fantastic and I am super happy I went with it.

I was looking at the LPVO at the time but ran into issues trying to find one that had a good parallax adjustment as most seemed to be fixed at least in the lower budget models.

I shoot very well at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards with this scope. I can't see impacts with a 22lr at 100 but I can see the target well enough to hold over with my aim.

I have a 1.5-4 Leupold which works well within 40 yds. (the 150yds parallax irks me)
I can hit a clay pigeon at 50y offhand on the first shot 6 out of 10 times.
grouse heads require some kind of support and 25 yds or less.

it is a new setup, haven't tested it on game yet

Good info, thanks gang. Not sure if the parallax is much of an issue as I have used other non rimfire specific scopes and haven’t noticed any issues other than setting up the diopter so the image is clear at close range 🤷. Have used a VX 2 3-9 X 33 on my.22mag and have enjoyed taking squirrel and rabbits out to 40 yards and quite a few yotes behind the ear out to 80.
 
I run the 2-7x32 Vortex Crossfire 2 rimfire on my CZ 457. I really like it, good glass great eye relief small and light suites the rifle and price is hard to beat. I do wish it had an MOA drop reticle like the leupold vx freedom line offers rather than its simple v-plex but I wasn't willing to fork over twice the $$$ for that and the slightly better glass for a rifle that’s simply just a plinker for me. I will also must say the dials are accurate and easy to read and reset but are on the mushy side with zero clicks to be heard of.

2-7 crossfire on our CZ 457s here. They work well. Would like to compare to a 2-7 diamondback.
 
I put a PA SFP 1x6 with their .22LR reticle in low rings on my Tuf22.

Works great. The reticle is bang on with CCI Minimags out to 200m.

I have a 1-4 Bushnell LPVO on a centrefire and it is was really nice to bush hunt with this year, though I didn't shoot anything, haha.

Wouldn't hesitate to use on a rimfire and even with the small objective lens, it is really nice and bright at 4 power. Mine has capped turrets and fixed parallax - I wanted this as part of the beauty is how simple it is. That being said, I think it would be great for hunting grouse in the bush and general plinking, but for something like gophers I would want a dialable LVPO.
 
Leupold also makes a 1-4x20 I've seen people use as a "LPVO"

Diamondback 2-7 is also a good choice with its BDC reticle.

You could even look at what Westhunter has to offer on Amazon. Getting one for my airsoft soon.
