LPVO scopes...

The older leupolds are the ticket. Most of the recommendations are in the 16-17 ounce range which hardly count as light weight.

Personally I do not and have never seen a use for a scope that goes below 2-3x. I've owned them but have never used them at those settings. The new VX3HD 2.5-8 is 16 ounces. The old VX3 with a 1" tube was 11 ounces. Tell me what a 1-4 will do that 2.5-8 will do?

the 1.5-5x20 and 2.5-8x36 has their differences and uses depending what you re doing i like both. but if the newer leupold are that heavy leupold will no more being called the lightweight option.

I think if the newer Leupold are a bit heavier than the old one they are still lighter than a lot of the competition that offer similar features like 30mm tubes and illuminated red dots... the additional weight is in the extra cap, battery and what create the red dot??!!
I also have scopes in both magnification, 1.5-5, 2-7 and 2.5-8 like them all but not a fan of the larger one with bigger bells!

A good one works like a red dot at 1x.
