LR barrel length

It has more to do with overall length, Not barrel length. I've seen 9" 10/22 barrels from Dlask that are non restricted. The OAL minamum is 26"..
I know you cant "chop" one shorter than 18"... If you want shorter than that you have to buy a short barrel.
 
There are no barrel length limits for rimfire semi-autos (provided the barrel is manufactured at that length), but you need to maintain the 26" OAL as mikeystew says.

Thats not completely accurate... while an overall length of 26" MUST be maintained, there is a minimum barrel length... which is approxiamtely 4 1/8" (105mm)... not that anyone would want a four inch barrel on a rifle??? :D

A handgun barrel must exceed 105mm. If the thing has a buttstock, and is over 26" overall, is it a handgun?
