In the market for a mid to long range Hunting Optic. Say up to 16x, 42-44mm Objective, non-Illuminated or MRAD reticle and not looking to break the bank on one either.

So say $1200 new/used, not brand loyal by any means as I have Bushy's and Leupold VX III's

What says the LRH CGN'ers here?

You could probably get a used Swaro Z5 3.5-18x44BT for that price. I’ve used one for years, very light capable optic. Not intended for range mule usage

Swarovski Z3, 3-10X42 or the Z5, 3-18X44, either of these with the BRX or BRH reticles. Run the data through the online ballistics calculator and you can reach out with confidence. The Z3 is well within your budget, the Z5 will be in the $1500 range.

If you’re not in a rush, I’d wait to see the new Apex Optics 3-15 crossover scope. If it has all they say, it’ll fill a void in the market.

You could probably grab up a used Mark 4 Leupold 4.5-14x for that kind of money. Not sure what you think of the TMR reticle, but it's not terribly cluttered, compared to some other ones. Or a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x with a NP-R1 or NP-R2 reticle could be an option too.

Is it no questions asked? Forever? Doesnt matter how many owners? I think not

Leupold certainly doesn't care if you are the first or fifth owner, and they do warranty for lifetime. Now, if you do something stupid like drop it on a rock, no warranty. But is that particularly unreasonable?

I think you'd be surprised. It's a better warranty than the rest. My hunting partner sent in an old scope for warranty work, they sent him a brand new scope. If that isn't a good warranty I don't know what is.

That is impressive. The best warranty however still belongs to Vortex, no matter how many haters there are. Ive never had to warranty any leupold scope but the same for vortex but never owned any of the cheaper models. Just Vipers, PSTs and Razors!

Vortex basically copied leupolds warranty. It's not a better warranty either. Don't get me wrong, I like vortex, especially their binoculars for their price point. You simply can't go wrong with leupold scopes and they're made in the USA.
