I'm interested in Lrb m14's. I have never held or seen on in real tho. I like the ruger mini 14's but don't like the quality and accuracy they lack so Lrb is kinda sounding super nice to me but would like your input

If you're after quality and a superior scope mounting solution you can't go wrong with an LRB Arms M25 receiver. I would have highly recommended going with a full build of theirs, but right now I would suggest one of their receivers combined with an I.D.F. parts kit, screwed together by a local smith if you lack the talent and tools to do so yourself. These parts kits won't be available by the time summer is here, and the last time they were imported was over 15 years ago, so you'll need to act immediately to take advantage of the ~$1,000 savings before your best option is once again a full LRB Arms built rifle. There are advantages of going for a full LRB Arms build: they build a great rifle on fully refinished parts, and their bolts are second to none in quality as well.

If you aren't looking to mount a scope, you can save another ~$750 by using a Norinco receiver. Some of us bought Norinco rifles back when they were $400, selected them based on the quality of their receivers, and are now pretty happy we did so.

Should you want to go the parts kit route, I have a fully matched HRA parts kit listed in the E.E. at my cost, and Wolverine Supplies is bringing one last shipment of parts kits in if you'd prefer to gamble and want other parts.

I almost prefer to use ghost ring or peep sight over a scope on a rifle like this. I have my eye on an m14 Lrb. It's got the standard m14 Lrb receiver Chrome lined 18" barrel

Make sure you understands the limitations of the M14 platform. I don't know what your expectations are, but don't hope for sub moa. I believe the standard accuracy for a m14 service rifle was around 3moa.

5-moa was considered "acceptable".

The criteria was shooting NATO spec ammo, all rounds had to hit with-in 2.5" of the aiming mark.

Also, Mini-14 and M14 are two completely different guns.

The Mini-14 is the product of taking the basic concept of the M14 and Garand and scaling it down in size for intermediate calibers like .223, 7.62x39, 6.8SPC and .300BLK.

now hold on there- the m14usgi was capable of doing considerable BETTER than that - using zedikers loads the worst of my m14s grouped 1.5 to 2 inches moa using 168 HAND LOADS - the trw would do 1 inch- I would expect lrb's offering to do at least that

LRB use some newly manufactured parts in their rifles. No guarantee it will be all USGI. If your LRB must have all USGI parts, better to talk with them first so you are not disappointed. Some USGI parts options are at extra cost.
