LRB M25 Goodness

Thanks for the info - how does the Criterion barrel compare?, or are they the same?

I assume like all M14 parts - next to impossible to get in Canada? Any chance there is source of new barrels in Canada?

Olds, I can't wait to see some pics of the build!

Never mind, I found a article from Chuck Hawks that describes the difference between the two.

So I shot the new stick at the Service Rifle shoot last weekend and to say I was happy would be the understatement of the year. I had a s**t eating grin on my face ALL DAY!

In case you missed the specs:

Kreiger DMR Med contour barrel
TRW bolt - headspaced to 1.630 .308 match (168gr handloads only - time to kick some AR15 ass - and it did!)
TRW oprod
HR trigger group - tuned by an M14 master to 4.5lbs
USGI forged flash hider reamed to NM - rings like a churchbell on roids!
AMTU unitized gas assy - glue and screw
Rooster spring guide
Smith Enterprise bolt release
Smith Enterprise scope rings
Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40 TMR reticle

Got the whole works coated in KG Gun Kote to give it the appearance of a "stock rifle", the stainless barrel woulda given it away for sure. Shooting the 300meter deliberate this past weekend was a joke! I was rushing and it was scoring 5's or V's with no problem. Got super nervous when it started racking up the kills and I rushed it as there were a couple guys behind me staring :D Next year I'm goin for the perfect score - 50-10V

Couldn't help to stage a picture or two of my new favorate rifle :D

p.s. whats the story on the Enfield?

The Enfield is the trophy given to the lucky guy (me :D) who wins the 300m deliberate shoot at the service rifle shoot this year. The other trophy is given to the winner of the 300m to 200m rundown winner :D

I'll have to get back to you guys on the name of the trophies since I don't have them with me. Might not mean a lot to some guys but its taken me 6 years to win anything at the championship :D

Nice to see a m14 in competition. The LRB scope mount has to be a huge benefit. I like that you went sleeper on the look as well.

Who reamed it for you BTW?
AMTU unitized gas assy - glue and screw

Why did you choose the screws?

YEAH buddy! I'm gonna carry that thing in Service Rifle till I'm told I can't anymore. Love being the ONLY guy shooting .308. The guys keep trying to get me to the dark side (AR's) with cheap shots and remarks about using an outdated POS but I tell them to F'off all the time LOL!

Got the flash hider reamed out by a PROFESSIONAL GUNSMITH way back when it was sorta ok to send stuff back and fourth across the border - Warbird Custom Guns. Don't bother asking him....he doesn't deal with Canadians anymore because of the border BS. Great guy tho.

I like the glue and screw method for two reasons - can't see it and its a double mechanical hold on the two parts. If the weld wasn't done properly it can crack and I've seen one first hand. If done right welding is just as good.

I really like the sneaky under the radar look of the rifle. Nothing screams "gamer" unless you know what you are looking for and know me personally ;)

I've said it before but the main reason I went with the LRB is the fact that I had an ARMS mount loosen up on me during a match. True I never checked it for years but that bothered me so I sold the parts and converted the rifle to irons only.

Import through Prophet River, and it's only $150.

simpleton, have you done this already? Also, will the USA still allow importing these LRB receivers? Thanks for any info/help,
