Lube on Sks?

Where ever two metal surfaces bear on eachother, lube is required. Yeah! the SKS will work dry, cold and dirty. It will still work if full of camel dung and reindeer turds. For a while. But it wll last you a lifetime if you take care of it.
Without oil, it will rust and wear out prematurally. Ask any mechanic. I have bought many a gun from people who didn't clean and oil them and then complain they didn't last
I use light gun oil liberally after cleaning. I live in Vancouver where rust is a common colour. I use white lithium greas spray on springs and trigger group. Befor shooting, I give it a good dry wipedown.

Didn't read the rest of the posts but I always run my comm block guns wet (oil), they seem to like it that way. For "lube" I use hi heat wheel bearing grease works great. my 2c

I rub it down with Mobil 1 oil a little grease on the bolt carrier. Wipe it down and good to go. It's more to prevent rust.
