Lube sizer

Star lube sizers come up on eBay fairly regularly or you can buy one from Magma Engineering who manufactures them now. I bought mine used from a friend years ago and they are well worth the money.

I've used a lyman lubricator and sizer for a long time because I bought it and most of my dies used.

Works well for me.

You can get a new RCBS lubesizer from WSS and a new Star from the manufacturer for $275 U.S., with either one of them you spend enough on different sizes of dies that the orig. cost of the sizer will be of little consequence, when all is said and done.

Once you have the star... you'll want more accessories $250 turns into $1000 or more, when you start adding features like roller handle, air feed, bullet feed...

I have all the options on mine but the automatic bullet collator... I have used the others and decided that the star is the best.

I must have more willpower than you because my Star is still as I bought it over 10 years ago. :p:D

I use 2 Stars, 2 Lyman, and 2 RCBS, and between them I have over 50 sizing dies, the only extras on the Stars is both have the Air Cylinder for lube feed, and both have lube heaters, as do my Lymans. For those not familiar, the Lyman and the RCBS use the same dies, the Star is a little more complicated and uses dif. dies that cost a bit more. I consider the Star about 3x faster then the others.

Stars are so fast I can't keep my bullet tube topped up and can pump the handel faster then I can feed the bullets in... The air lube feed really is slick I have it too its a good upgrade over the stock spring setup. I got the lube heater base too.
I plan on keeping this for many years to come.

I normally size about 2500-5000 bullets at a time... how many do you do ?

Not as many as you at one time, I mainly cast bullets that are not readily available like heavy for caliber handgun designs and the odd rifle bullet. I have thought about the bullet feeder but wonder if it would be worth it as much of what I size are gas checked bullets.

The bullet feeder I have you have to drop the bullets in manually they make an electric colator but its like $700 bucks on its own... I only use the press once a month if I was using it every day I would get the electric colator but i dont so its not worth it.

I bought my Lyman 4500 in near-new condition at an auction about a year ago for $32. They had 2 older Lyman 450s at the same auction that went for 15-20 each. If you can find them at estate sales, auctions, yard sales or the like they will cost a tiny fraction of what retail cost is. Paying $200 for a new one would have made me think twice about getting into casting, as I likely won't do a thousand a year.
