It puts the gas check on very square and very well unless the bullet you are sizing does not provide enough resistance in the die for the punch to seat the check. Maybe I should explain a different way, if the bullet is close to the size of the die, it may not provide enough resistance for the Star. You may not be happy with the Star in this case anyways, as the lube will "pass" without the solid seal and your up to your elbows in lube. The Star works well with pointed bullets if hard cast, the biggest concern is the die setup/extra lube holes plugged/ concerns. One thing is for sure, when the Star is set up right, and lube is going where you want it, and it's not going where you don't want it, there is nothing like it, slicker then owl####!!!
