lubed wads for BP loaded brass

Ive been having problems recently with my BP loaded 455 colts.Im using BP (pyrodex P), wax wad, filler and the bullet...the wax i was using for wads seemed to absorb into the powder. when i pulled the trigger it went pop, and then fizzle and the slug was lodge half way down the barrel. after removing the lead from the bore i tried again, and again...it happened 4 times before i gave up for the day. Any sugestions on loading cases with BP and filler? what to use for wads between the powder and filler?

I just use a cardboard wad under the bullet.
Frist pour in the pyrodex then wheatlets then the wad then seat the bullet.

I only do this on 50 70 cases but i think the same process would work.
Some guys say to put a wad between the powder and wheatlets but i just push down on the pyrodex with a dowell to get it flat in the case then pour in my wheatlets then wad ect.
How much pyro are ya pouring in ?

Plain Cardboard fairly compact stuff is what i use for wads.
you can buy hole punches diffrent sizes

7 grains Pyrodex worked nicely...low velocity but the gun was manageable. I know it sounds weak but...I tried some 11 grain loads a fefw weeks ago and it was really snappy in the little bulldog. 7 grains feels nice.

anyways, I was using the wax to separate the powder from the wheatlets trying to keep them from mixing (its a very bumpy road to the range)...it seems that sitting the week or so after loading them let the wax absorb the powder... all i get now is a little pop and a fizzle and a jammed up barrel. I might have to start punching cardboard instead.
