Has anyone out there used one of these? I am thinking of getting one as a RDS for an AR. From what I am reading they seem to compare well to more expensive units for less money.

This won't be going on a work gun. It would need to take a bump here and there, but won't take any heavy duty abuse.

Thanks in advance.

Cool thanks. I'd like to know from someone who has tried both how they compare to Aimpoint offerings which are, of course, in a different world in terms of price..

We run the Lucids on the range guns. They work quite well and are remarkably durable. They definately don't have the battery life of the aimpoints. One annoyance on the range is the target type adjustment turrets. People can't stop playing with them. In my opinion covering the adjustment turrets with caps would have been a good idea.

That's the one complaint I have with mine (on a JR 9mm) it's a decent, inexpensive red dot. It's not a great optic, but for the price - I don't mind having it on a plinker.

we have sold about 200 of them, great product for the price point, the mid point between the $150 junk you get at CT and the aimpoint/Eotec

My only complaint is that it is easy to mount it imperfectly. Something about having to firmly hold it while you tighten the screws doesn't always take. You wouldn't want to take it on and off a gun a lot. Otherwise I would choose it over the the Vortex Strike Fire, which I had before. For the extra bucks it is an inexpensive upgrade from that one.

We've sold way over 100 and I don't think any have come back or had any issues. As to reviews I'll let the people that have used them speak up but I have one on my Tavor.

Hey Ryan, I'd love to see a picture of the lucid on your Tavor...

Eta on the magnifiers?

Thanks.

I have both...other than the battery life of the Aimpoint (far superior)...didn't notice too much difference. The Lucid 2x magnifier threw me for a loop when I first got it. Looks like you're looking down the wrong end of a telescope. Rotating the focus ring fixed that...I do find the Lucid sits more forward on the rifle (and the doubler makes it quite large)...not a big deal but for esthetics I like the looks of the Aimpoint more. The Lucid lets you change the reticle to different shapes which is cool. I was going to sell off the Lucid but I needed a RD for my 300BLK rifle so it stays...like others have said...it's not a great optic but it's good for the money. No complaints overall but I'd go Aimpoint if money isn't an object.

I have had one for more than a year, great holographic sight. Use it on my CZ858; looks good, very clear, works like a charm. Tried it on my CX4 Storm and it looked fantastic with that carbine.
