Lucid HD7 in stock!

hey Ryan...can you bring in the variable magnifier as well? how much would it be?

hoping my paycheck allows it...I plan on ordering one of these in May, but would like the extra zoom the 3 - 5 would provide.

I bought one of these from SFRC a few mths back w/ the 2X magnifier. A really excellent sight for the price. Top-notch.

BUT, if you're thinking of putting it on a Benelli MR1...(possibly one of their semi-auto shotguns?)...think again. The ejection port on the benelli is quite high on the receiver, and the big nuts (insert lewd jokes here) on the built in mount interfere w/ ejection. I tried the sight in different positions and it just never worked w/ the MR1.

It's now on my Ruger SR22 and it is great. I'm sure it would be a very nice sight on any AR platform.

you do know you can take out the bolts and knobs and put them in the otherway around, I.E. knobs will be on the LH side

Sadly, no, the bolts are unidirectional. The bolt channels in the mount are shaped in such a way that you can't turn them around and put the nuts on the left. I did try...

huh..news to me

the first thing I did was put the bolts through the opposite side to be clear of the charging handle.

Odd. When I did that the bolts were canted downwards slightly b/c of the shape of the bolt channels on the left side (rounded vs. squared)...

BTW, this unidirectional thing was confirmed by a gunsmith w/ about 40 yrs of experience under his belt, so it's not just me.

maybe a first gen Lucid ?

is the eye piece threaded properly for the 2x magnifier? (without a 2x handy it would be hard to tell)

if not its the gen 1...I can't find any other diff online, maybe the mount bolts are not reversable on the first gen...?

it really is a great red dot.

bought the HD7 with 2x included, at theAmmoSource/sfrc and had it in my hands in 4 days...awesome deal.

They have been really popular lately. We've sold almost a dozen this week. As to the bolts, I'll look at one tomorrow.

All of the lucids Hd7 that have been sold in canada are the newist Gen on the market.

Dont forget ryan has Elcan style scope covers in stock made just for the lucid, works with and without the 2x mag.
Im sure they are on the SFRC website somewhere.

Ya, I have the 2x and it works just fine. I had another look this eve, and I guess you might be able to force the bolts in reverse...but again there is a rounded channel on the right of mine.

In other words, the bolts are square on the left 3/4 of the way to the threads, then the bolt is rounded the rest of the way to the threads. The channel is correspondingly squared, then rounded to match, IE/ a one-way set up as far as I can see. BUT, when you look at the pics on the Lucid website, the nuts are on the left!?

In any case, I hope no one thinks I'm putting down the Lucid sight. It really is a fantastic piece of kit, especially for the $. I mean, the features and build quality make u think u should be paying twice the price.

I just tried it and the bolts fit in both ways. That being said when I switched them the one was abit tight and the other went in freely. After I moved the tight bolt back and forth a few times it loosened up.

I was curious so I tried it on mine. Same results as you Ryan.

Oh boy, you guys have got me thinking I'm nuts. So, I tried again. And again, the bolts in the opposite way results in the bolts being canted downward on the left. It is slight though. I have little doubt that I could crank it in, but I'm just too timid to do it. Anyway, I'm very happy with the Lucid on my Ruger...right sided bolts and all.

In any case, Ryan, thanks for checking...appreciate the feedback.
