anybody got one or seen one of those drillings that the luftwaffe aquired from i believe J.P. Sauer during WWII?

Yes they were issued to Africa corps pilots. In 9.3x74R and 12x12 ga I saw one at at Calgary gun show in the 80's.I also have a artical somewhere in G+A on it.Harold maybe it was a 16x16 ga I'd have to look?

If I'm not mistaken there were some krieghoffs as well, imagine our military giving out something like that? They were meant as survival arms if airmen went down in the middle of nowhere.

I held one at Milarm about 4-5 years ago. Was quite a nice gun. Had small amounts of pitting, and was probably re-blued, but it had all the Luft marks intact and was JP Sauer contract Drilling. It was priced at about $2500.

Cool toy, but I couldn't justify that kind of dough for my trap gun... :)

It had these luft markings:

It's not a drilling, but there is an Ithaca Auto and Burglar with Luftwaffe markings in the Calgary Military Museum. This one has a buttstock rather than a pistol grip. I wonder if it is legitimate.

I saw a "Luftwaffe Ithica" . in the US. It was shown to me by a WW2 vet, who brought it back.Had a full buttstock.

I had a client who got one at a raffle of all things, as part of a club he belonged to. Absolutely beautifully made, in absolute mint condition. He was gracious enough to allow me swing it around his kitchen for a few minutes.
