Hi all
recently aquired a Luger
It's a BYF, 1942, all # match except the mag, blueing is quiet simply beautiflul with slight wearing on the sharp edges, barrel is the best I've seen, sharp and bright, three eagles on the right side near the barrel on the frame, the # 135 under 2 of the eagles, P08 on the left side of the frame near the safty. On the left side of the mag is marked P08 bottom right hand corner, eagle upper left, fxo and an eagle with 37 under it bottom left corner, right side has no markings. the holster is soft brown leather with no markings.
So as you guessed it, what's it worth in todays market?

Riker,

This is a very nice Luger, congrats !!

byf 42s were the last military Lugers produced by Mauser for the German Army. The end of the line production was sent to Portugal & Bulgaria.

Late production German P08s (1940 to 42) are my personnal favorites as they display great craftmanship & a superb finish such as your pistol.

Value wise I'd put your Luger in the 1K+ range but this is a very subjective area...Some books & markets would give high figures on that one but here in Canada...market is lower even on nice pistols like yours.

As I like to say, value is what the buyer has on the table...
