Luger calibers

I have a chance to pick up an old Luger have not seen it yet, supposed be in VG condition. What calibers did they come in I was told that it was not 9mm.

Also 45 ACP, but it's rare. Recently a gent down south has built Lugers in various calibers, and I believe Luger himself built a couple of "baby Lugers" in 32 ACP. - dan

There are also a few different pistols in .22 LR that are sort of copies of the Luger, ERMA is one.

The Erma has a bit of charm to it design wise. The other was sold by Stoeger and is a total POS.

Also 45 ACP, but it's rare.

I could be wrong but I believe that their is only one original .45 ACP Luger in existence. Read an article on it years ago, they said it was insured for something like a million dollars. It was apparently part of the U.S. service pistol trials at the turn of the last century.

I believe they made a few for the trials, and the guy in the US who remakes them chambers for 45 ACP as well. You are correct that the originals are rare and expensive. - dan

According to an article I recently read, Luger submitted 2 guns in 45 ACP for the U.S. trials.
One was scrapped and the other is owned by a collector in the U.S.

There have been some 45's made up by a gunsmith in the States but there is only one original. Wish I had it.
