Luger for non 12(6) collector

X2

I have two Swiss 06/29 Lugers and one German Mauser made P08 of 1940. The German one shoots good, but the Swiss ones shoot much better groups and are much more reliable thanks to the 7.65 Para round.

The Swiss Lugers were not made under the press of wartime production.... and were only fired by officers on Sunday afternoon plinking sessions;).

Good advice accross the board:

For an original Luger (all matching you have a few options):
Swiss
Artillery
Navy
American Eagle
Commercial models
All of the above sometimes have barrel lengths that meet the Restricted guidelines but all come at a premium price.
Cheaper would be a Luger that is already converted "all matching minus the restricted barrel".
Your other option as stated is to get purchase the Luger and get in converted. Milarm can point you in the right direction. They have a contact in Vancouver that does a good job and the converted P08's even fit in original holsters.

There are also some Finnish Luger's out there they, where re-barreled with 5' barrels by the army in Finland, a number came into Canada not that long ago, so original not messed up. Keep you eyes open for one of these, this is how I ended up with a Luger.

Thanks tacfoley, memory failure, corrected.

I'm like one of the guys that former President Reagan spoke of - 'He sure knows a lot, but most of what he knows is wrong.'

I just happen to have a Finnish P08 in my de-ac locker here.....
