A family friend has offered to sell me a WWII luger, since his kids would probably melt the thing down or give it to the cops. Its a family heirloom and I think he wants to see it go to someone who will appreciate it (me).
I want to give him a fair price and not take advantage of him in any way, but I have no idea what one is worth.
He says its WWII and has a perfect finnish, I'm guessing VG+ to EXC.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi, make sure it is all matching including firing pin and sideplate, magazine. If no accessories (holster, takedwon tool, ect) and original finish, price varies depending on overall condition and code. I would guess $750 and up for a VG+. Take care,
Joe:)

P.S>..it's 12-6 if it has the original barrel

There are so many variables with P-08s.....do all numbers match?...Has it been refinished.....what are the codes? If numbers match and it is in good condition prices start at $600.00 and go up from there...look for any marks or codes....If it says Kreighoff anywhere it's no good and you should send it to me immediately for disposal!!

its 12-6 if its an army model with the original barrel, if its artillery or navy its got a 6 or 8 inch, and worth much more! Take some pictures and post it up. I picked up a nice shooter that was a parts gun (probably put together in a field repair depot or some such) with very good to excellent finish for 350. Matching numbers start at 550 and up depending on condition.

So mine with original holster and second matching magazine was a good deal for $175?

And to think a few years back I politely declined when offered a Luger and P-38 as a pair, gratis.

I did however connect the WWII war vet with a gentleman who professionally mounted her medals & those of her husband in trade for the pair of pistols, however. Was one of those feel good moments. ;)
