I have someone who is trying to sell me an artillery luger with holster his great grandpappy brought back from ww1. He describes it as absolutely mint & matching . If this is the case, what is a fair value for such a thing? It may also be possible that its not registered as no one had seen it in years & it was recently found in a attic storage closet.

As always, condition is all but an "arty" is a special piece and not found very often. It can range well in the thousands given it is in good functioning state and mostly matching. If there's a snail drum with it, well.... better see your bank manager.
Holster is also very valuable if it has been taken care of in the simplest of ways: NO neatsfoot oil or softening leather preparations. Even Peccard's should be shunned.

There are a number of sites that will give you a realistic market value depending of course on the the condition of the rig in question.........or you could just ask me!
