Greetings All. I am currently lusting after: G-43, and not having alot of luck there. (Too pricey, or sporterized to where I'd have to spend thousands to bring it back to re-enacting use.)
Also wanting an MP-40, but sadly my PAL is only up to restricted. Is there any way to upgrade my PAL to Prohibited?
If not, what are the areas to search for a deactivated MP-40 that you all know of?
Airsoft MP-40 would do as a filler, but again, unsure where to search.

Any assistance and/or Information would be Greatly Appreciated.

(I live in Victoria, BC, where there are about 2 Gun Shows a year with usually Nada Nifty, so that's pretty a non looker!) Thank you all again-Cheers:

Impossible to get a prohibited PAL, so forget that. As for a dewat, maybe post a WTB ad in the EE forum, expect to pay about 2 grand or so.

Here is another possibility, no less expensive though. A newly manufactured semi-auto version of the MP-38 made in Germany:

There was talk of Marstar bringing in the semi-auto MP-44 by this company so the MP-38/40 version of it may not be far behind. If they are able to be imported (no reason why not), they would both be restricted. We shall see...

Steve1973-(I'm Still searching for a G-43, so any leads are appreciated!) and Claven2, Many thanks! Claven2, why no prohibited? Is it just against the Law to Upgrade one's PAL? I'm Ignorant of the why's and why not's...
And thank you, I will stick an ad on the WTB, Many thanks!
Steve1973-Holy @##$$$#@! Does that look Superb! Again though-Restricted? Wouldn't the barrel length/overall length make it prohibited? If not-OH LORD_BRING THOSE TO THE GREAT WHITE NORTH PLEASE!
Any further info on this weapon in English? Thanks as Always-JamieW

If the barrel is less than 18.5 inches (which it is), it will be restricted. Since this is a newly manufactured reciever that can only fire semi and not a converted auto reciever, it should be restricted and not prohibited. SHOULD being the operative word here due our goofy firearms laws....

Sadly, if you didn't have one in the past, you'll never be able to have one. It's a grand-fathered status, and if you lose it (by selling your only example or forgetting to renew your pal) you can never get it back. If you never had it, you never can.........wish they had a crying emoticon to express my feelings:(

Well, many thanks all. Seems my only hope is: The German Company gets them here, (I figured out the Euro Exchange-They'd Sell for $5000.00 + in Canada!!!!!) annnnnddddd if they are restricted. (Somehow.....I can see being screwed on this too!??)
Cocked and Locked-Are you saying I could BUY someone's Prohibited status from them?? Or did I just misunderstand?...
As always, My thanks to All-Cheers-JamieW

Oh yeah, you must be mistaken.... No chance of buying someone else's licence status from them. :(

Or with ### marriage now legal, we can marry each other it get our pre-1945 12.6. Yes, it would be legal and it is only a matter of time before some one gives it a try.

I know it's blasphemy on CGN, but an airsoft version might do you for re-enacting, and would certainly be the cheapest option, next to a real K98.

Well, again, Many thanks to All! Getting more Depressingly obvious I'll never have an MP40, Boy, Glad I served in the CF for 10 years, Gotta uphold those rights....Sigh. I keep getting told Marstar "May" bring in the Semi-auto MP-40, and STG 44....http://www.waffen-technik-withum.de/mp44-22-1-e.html, and, http://www.ssd-weapon.com/produkte/bd38/bd38.htm. Does anyone have any info on these? Also-Is Marstar the only place In Canada to obtain items like these? Seems so, as it's the only one commonly mentioned?
Ollie-I'd get an Airsoft one, if I could find one....007 Airsoft has gone under, and I don't know where else to search. Plus I'm told (Many sources say this is true, many say not) that one may not have Airsoft's as they are considered "Replicas" thus Illegal. I'm really not interested in flouting any laws, even those I find ridiculous.
As always-My thanks and regards to all-Cheers-Jamiew

Marstar won't be disclosign anything about if they can get these or not until it's a 100% sure thing that they can or not.

I know a couple staff at Marstar personally and they won't even tell me, so you'll have to wait like the rest of us...

Claven2-Ah well, much enlightened. I was hoping for more, But I can be as patient as the next chap, much appreciated!
And Beergut-Agreed, they sure would be nice to have!

As always-My thanks and regards to all-Cheers-Jamiew
