.308 20" barrel. There was talk about bringing them in non-restricted by the manufacturer during production. Not too sure if it was pulled off or if they are restricted as an AR varient.

US street price is $3400-$3800

Dude... burned by the SITE OWNER! LOL

Fixed it for you :p

As for the rifle, the REPR looks like one AWESOME precision rifle. As for now its likely to get considered an AR10 variant, HOWEVER I remember some LWRC guys and some guys interested in importing it, trying to get it classified as Non restricted.

If we win the AK22 case, then we may be more likely to get it, but its unlikely at this point it will be non restricted.

It is however, still a possibility. I would wait for the AK22 case to be resolved before any attempts at import are made. If they go and classify it as an AR10/AR15 variant, its unlikely to get changed back.

If we get it classified AFTER the case (if we win, that is) its a possibility they will make in NR.

Why would it be considered a variant? It's different mechanically than an AR. I would figure if they allow the XCR in as non-restricted they should allow this in non-restricted as well. Mind you, since when did any of it make sense?

Frankly, I'd rather have that rifle (even restricted) than an FN - and yes, I've both owned and been issued an FN. It has AR style ergonomics (mag release, bolt release) along with the good points of the FN (adjustable gas system, left side cocking handle) and you can zero an optic and it will stay zeroed (proper rail on top).

Same thing that made the GSG5 a variant of the MP5, and the AK22 a variant of the AK47...

They look pretty close.

The ONE saving grace about the REPR is that its a side charging upper... That may convince them its not an AR15/AR10... The problem is, when you look at it, it still LOOKS like an AR10.... and right now looks seem to be enough to ban things :(

how is the quality on these? Some on ARF were whining about QC issues, anybody know for real?

There is no way that this will be classified as Non-Restricted, especially now with the near end of the LGR. The lower is an AR variant. Not to go off topic but my guess is the so-called concessions to get rid of the LGR will be to class all semi-auto's as Restricted. The Libs have a hard-on for semi's so you know that they push for that.

The LWRC-SABR was already classified and is in the FRT as a Restricted Firearm (AR Variant).

The REPR is simply the new name for the SABR so I can't see how the classification would change... They'll just add the REPR to the AKA list on the LWRC-SABR
