I've been using the lyman for about a year now and at times I think I'm wasting more lube than goes onto the bullet. I lube cast bullets for my 50-70 and 45-70's. I am getting a large buildup of lube under the base of the bullet so much that every dozen or so I have to stop and scrape it out of the die because if I don't the bullet won't seat deep enough and I wind up with lube covering the ogive :bangHead: . I'm using SPG lube and the lyman has the built in heater. Anyone have any suggestions or alternatives. thx

If you are using hard lube with a heater reduce the heat and reduce the amount of pressure you are applying. If soft lube just back off the pressure. Are you using gas check bullits without a GC? This will cause lube build up as well.

I had the same issue. Back off the pressure and all will be well.
