Lyman Digital Scale Erratic Try This

If ur savy enough and not worried about warranty on your Lyman Electronic Scale (i am using a 1200 DPS 3)

It became erratic last night wouldnt keep a 0.0 and would randomly go between -50.0 variable to 50gr when its sitting there doing nothing

So I removed the Warranty label and removed the 6 screws holding the Plastic Housing under the Scale, 2 scews under the cap holding the Plate to the Housing,,,, low and behold Powder staticly stuck to the Weight Arm so removed the Powder and then destaticed it with a wipe ....voila working perfect again after re-assmebly

By "removed the powder" I assume you meant you flicked your bic?

I use them in my powder dispenser as well helps in clean up..

Interesting. Do you simply cut it into strips and toss it in with the powder?

I wipe it down after each cleaning with the wipe and sometimes add some wax to polish the inside of the powder dispenser

also work great when cut into strips and tossed in the tumbler, helps pick up all the reall fine dust / carbon particles

I have one as well, had nothing but problems with it, loaded 100 rounds then it went crazy and the buttons stopped working, sent it in and they replaced the pad, got it back loaded 50 rounds, it went erratic again, would not hold zero at all, display was fluctuating, now it won't even turn on, I have always been careful with it and followed the proper start up procedures. Now I have to send it back again. Way to frustrating!

I am going to call Lyman, it cost me almost 40 bucks to ship it last time and another 40 to ship it again is crazy.
I should have done a google search before i bought it, after buying it I read some things that made me think I should have not bought it.
The one thing I will say is that they did fix it the first time no questions asked and I had had it for almost 3 years.
