Had one reloading/learning session with my new Lyman 1200 DPS 3. Not surprised to see 'Made in China' on the bottom of the box.
I was quite impressed with it right out of the box and got it warming up while I read the instructions, which were clear, concise and accurate.
I had no trouble calibrating it; amazing for a man who can't set a digital watch and hands the satellite remote to his wife. Using the 'repeat' function, I weighed a dozen or more charges on a balance beam and found the variance to be minimal. An extreme variation would be 1/10 of a grain.
The booklet came with two additional cards, one indicating that with short cut powders, it may be necessary to install the supplied flow restrictor to prevent an overcharge. I was using VARGET and found it was necessary.
One of the user comments I read about the RCBS unit said that in order to achieve the same effect, you have to insert a rolled up paper in the dispensing tube. Points for the Lyman unit on that one.
My loading bench is under a heating duct and I had cut a vent in it right over the bench. This made it necessary to lower the plastic cover during powder dispensing, but I long ago learned that my balance scale was similarly affected during a fan cycle.
I think this is going to become a valued reloading tool.
