Anyone have experience with the Lyman Gen 6? I am looking to buy a scale/dispenser combo like the Autocharge/Chargemaster/Lyman Gen6... Looking get the general consensus on which is a better unit.

THanks

Had the Gen 6 at the same time as my Chargemaster. Never used the Lyman much.

½ hour warmup, very sensitive to lighting types, slow to clean up in comparison.

Sold the Gen 6, kept the Chargemaster. Dave.

many of loading buddies have the chargemaster, I on the other hand opted for the newer player at the time and bought the Hornady unit. I have used both and I prefer the Hornady, it is just a little faster slightly easier to enter new weightsI do let mine warm up most times, but I have used it right after turning on as well. I a Lyman and another unit made in Texas, neither was close to the Hornady. FS

I purchased a Gen 6 over the winter only have about 300 charges thru it but its working great for my needs ,warm up time s 3 minutes ,No problems with florescent lights 2 feet above it ,or cell phone sitting on bench a foot away ,Using Varget and accurracy is good I check all loads with Gempro 50% of loads never have to be touched ,if loads are off when checked with gempro it is usually on the low side by 2 to 3 pieces of powder and only ever over by 2 pieces .If I let it warm up longer 30 minutes or so the number of loads being spot on seems to increase.Emptying machine takes about 30 seconds ,like the side shout move it to the edge of bench open it up pour right back into the bottle .Has a small foot print on the bench .Speed is good by the time I check the previous load and pour it into casing next load is ready to go,tried seating the bullet in between charges and I was too rushed for my liking.Paid 320.00 plus tax LGS Only bad thing I can say about it so far is I wish the key pad was a little bigger I have large hands so I use my pinkie to push buttons as it seems to work better.

Didnt see those threads... I only the ones asking about the best price for chargemaster and where to buy...

There there, for sure.

Please don't mistake my comment as meaning your asking AGAIN, but rather that there are some real problems with the Lyman and others. I haven't seen anybody complain about a CM.

30min warmup? Was that programmed in or just from your experience? I have a Gen 6 and it's a 3-min warmup count-down programmed into the unit. I've thrown charges, removed them, and reweighed them an hour later with the unit on the entire time and they measured the same so there doesn't seem to be much warm-up needed past the programmed 3-min. I can swap powders in around 2 minutes; no slower than a Chargemaster.

I chose the Gen 6 because of it's smaller footprint (desk space is at a premium for me) and because it was over $100 cheaper at the time of purchase (under $300 vs. right around $400). I have nothing against the Chargemaster but my experience with it over the past couple years seems totally different from what you experienced.

Other than the odd lemon that needs warranty work, none of the big brands units seem better or worse. I've read glowing reviews and absolute hatred towards all models (including the Chargemaster) depending on personal experience.

Less than a minute to change powders with the CM.

I found a difference in the unit I had as far as warm up time, with charges drifting .2 - .4 grains until around 30 minutes had elapsed.

Perhaps the newest permutation has addressed the issue. In any case, I will stay with the CM for the foreseeable future. Dave.

There's a lot more than the odd lemon.

Not at all... Looks like CM it is for me based on overall feedback/experience in all the various threads.

For anyone that has ordered from Natchez, how long do they take to contact you regarding shipping costs?
