Lyman Gen6 terrible product and worse customer support

I got caught on a repair / replacement once by Canada revenue because I did not have the right paper work to show that it was already bought & paid for taxes included when I shipped it back.

After several months and phone calls to the Revenue agency I just gave up.

Not sure if the U.S company should have completed more paper work .. but lesson learned.

I bought an older Weatherby Vanguard recently that is subject to the bolt recall. They sent me a package to send it back, but its only postage paid if its shipped from the States. Not too happy that I have to pay to have a defective part repaired

We are not American so they don't care as much ;)

The could lose the whole Canadian market and they would barely notice it

very true, but companies like hornady, rcbs, dillion, lee and many others still care enough to have good customer service for us Canadians.

I had the turbo tumbler for all of 3 hours before it crapped out. They told me I had to ship it back to the states at my expense for warranty. I won't buy lyman anymore

luckily mines worked great, but it reminds me that my lyman 700 ultrasonic cleaner crapped out :(

She was also rather rude with statements such as "I don't know why your country is like that" and "I'd like to know what your country does with the tax they collect" I was just dumbfounded at her ignorance. I don't know maybe the same stuff your country does with the tax they collect? what a ridiculous statement. They improperly filled out the paperwork it did not say anywhere on the box or paperwork that it was an RMA return.

Humm, glad I kept my Lyman purchases to a minimum ie Turbo 1200 tumber when I first got into reloading and a case trimmer. Everything else is Lee, RCBS and Hornady.

I was missing the baffle in my LNL AP powder measure and also broke the plastic holder for the primer guide rod. Called Hornady last Monday, parts were shipped out on Tuesday and I got them this past Monday. They sent me two of the holders too! The shipping was $20 and Hornady ate it! Similar with my Lee decapping pin. Broke it again (must be the 3rd one I've broken) on a stupid S&B case with an itty bitty primer flash hole, emailed Lee last Monday and got a reply back within 30mins. The part shipped out the next day and arrived yesterday. No questions asked and they never made me feel like I was wasting their time.

Lyman has nothing to do with nor control over Canada or U.S Customs. Very much doubt their paperwork or lack thereof is at fault.
"...freight prepaid to the factory..." is stated in their warrantee. Such as it is. Not all U.S. companies are like RCBS.

The lack of proper customs paperwork is not their fault? That doesn't make sense to me. Of course it's their fault for not putting the proper customs paperwork for an rma on the package.

As an update I finally have a functional gen6 granted it took over almost 4 months and almost the entire shooting season to get it along with countless hours on the phone with Lyman talking to rather rude people. If it breaks again im just filling the hopper with tannerite and video taping it because there is no way I would ever go through that again. RCBS from here on out.
