Reloading for my M305, I want to seat the primers such that they're under "flush" and I'm looking at the Lyman tool seen here:

http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/case-prep/primer-pocket-uniformer.php

Can someone who owns one of these confirm that they are indeed adjustable as to depth?

The writing somewhat implies this, and the small photo looks as though the depth setting is adjustable, but it's not 100% clear that this is the case.

All the blurb says is "Uniforming tool has a pre-set stop collar set to SAAMI specs".

Can this be adjusted, or not?

i got one and is not adjustable, the flash hole deburring toll is adjustable but not primer pocket uniformer, I use it on 308 win , 30 /30, 300 wsm, 243 winchester and it make a good job by the way I use it to clean my primer hole betwen reload it's munch more fast and effective than all cleaner I had try with the years

I do the same as matou2041 in using my primer pocket uniformed to clean out the primer pocket, works great and it seems to me that the primers sit just under flush with it so no need for adjustment anyway.

Most do sit properly , the tool is to check and uniform if nessesary and only needed once however many times reloaded.
And they don't adjust or there goes the Safty ( human error) recommended big time for m14 type guns (free floating firing pin)

So... not adjustable, but it works well enough that I can use it for my M305 reloads?

I've only been reloading for a few years, and only for bolt actions and handguns.

Seeing dented primers was... not reassuring.

in most SA rifles with free floating firing pins a light indication on the primer is not unusual. in fact it is more the norm. That's why it is always recommended to always strip a shell from the mag not insert in chamber and drop the bolt. Stripping from mag slows things down so firing pin has less inertia. and yes always check to make sure primer is below the rim of the primer pocket. Lyman primer pocket uniformer is more to make sure pockets are more or less all the same

Yes use it . Even so some primers are to soft , recommend cci#34 . I have had doubles with the pockets done but not so far with the #34 primer

Ok, consensus is that it's fine.

I have CCI BR2 Large Rifle primers, are these hard enough?

I'd prefer to stick with one rifle primer if I can.

I have a K&M Primer Pocket Correction Tool and very happy with it. It is adjustable but I have never had to change the factory setting for a slightly below flush fit.

FYI

The 7.62 NATO drawing below shows the primer seated .008 below flush.
