I have opportunity to acquire old USED LYMAN TURRET PRESS S-T. Looks heavy and solid. I do not have experience with this one, but it looks promising to me. It has 6 hole turret and missing only plastic primers tray.

I need honest opinion from people who used or still use this press.

Good/bad?

Thanks

It looks like a Spar-T press. I have used one for 30 years or more. I found that it is best to turn the turret in the same direction (clockwise) all the time. I have loaded a nasty pile of rifle cartridges on mine, full length sizing on a goodly portion. I recently purchased a Lyman T-Mag II press, but haven't used it yet. I bought the old Spar-T brand spankin' new from Casey's Reloading Supplies in Midland, ON, with money I had saved when I stopped drinking in 1974. It will always have a place at my bench.

I broke the handle off my Lyman Spar-T press today trying to full length resize some 300savage brass. I've had this for 30+ years and have done everyting from 38 to 300 Win Mag without a problem. If I can get the broken end of the handle out and re-thread the handle I think I'll keep it for pistol only.

I have this press and been usuing it since 1990...no issues at all. pistol and rifle setup.
The only thing i would get extra...is another turrett to have more dies ready.
