A good friend of mine took this footage of a Lynx feeding on a gut pile while he was out hunting this past weekend in North Central Alberta . Great footage .

It's something to see ain't it, this guy was sitting on the blood trail watching, waiting for us to finish gutting. He then jumped on the gut pile seconds after we started hauling the deer out of the bush, not his first free meal.

I have only seen seven of these animals alive, six were in traps. They look at you like you owe them money!
The other was running across the highway south of Conklin Alberta.
my wife commented that she'd rather see a bear, I thought really? You have no idea how rare that was.

thats some pretty cool footage.

I remember learning about lynx the first time when i was using dial up. would love to see one in person

Thats one Fat and Happy Cat !
Seen a small family a number of years ago near FishPot Lake.
Watched the kittens playing on the road in front of me.
Then they ran off the road and then i could hear voices as there where three ladies walking on the road for an evening stroll.
As they passed by me I mentioned the Lynx in the bush about 5 feet away from them and they suddenly looked alarmed...might of had Cougars running through their heads.
Anyways, the gals scurried off and the small family sauntered off futher into the bush.
Didnt have a camera:( but, thanks for sharing your great pics.

Thanks for posting OP! I saw the back two thirds of one cross a trail in front of me last year in Northern BC. No time for a pic but was super cool to get a quick look.

I worked around Conklin IN the bush for more tha 15 years and only saw 1 Lynx for a couple secs. Then I did a stint up by Zama and driving to rainbow lake one day seen 3 all sunning themselves in the ditch about 5-10 miles apart from each other (before the days of the camera phone) would have loved to have pics but still have the memory

A hundred mile north of North Bay, I've spotted them a few times, close to town. One was across from the Temiskaming Hospital.

Really nice footage.

I saw a couple of these fighting a few years ago around Calling lake Alberta.

I wish I could make a video that good..... it was amazing !!!!!

Great footage and pics in this thread.

A few years ago while elk hunting I was following an elk trail through some high hazel brush along the edge of a ravine. Visibility was very poor and I nearly jumped out of my skin when a cat form crossed my path not more than 6yds away. At first I feared it was a cougar but as it crossed the trail I saw its tail, or lack of one, and instantly knew what I was looking at. I quickly moved up to the point where the lynx had crossed and was able to observe it walk down to the bottom of the ravine where it turned and looked back at me very casually. It seems to have zero fear of me as it stared for a few seconds then jumped the small creek at the bottom of the ravine and sauntered away.

First and only one I've seen in the wild. I have never even seen tracks of one before or since.

Over forty some years ago, I spotted one in a ravine on my Dad's farm, about 90 miles east of Regina. The "creek" led into bigger ravines, then into the Qu'Appelle Valley. It just trotted away, looking back a couple of times. I spent a lot of time in the creek as an imagined big game hunter, first with my old BB gun, then my Cooey 39. Loved to roam the countryside back then, and still do!

There realy good eating (trappers Turkey )

I'll second that, my grandfather made some mean soups and stews out on our line. I've had a few close encounters in my travels, had the one we took pics of, another came into a wounded hare call, I was in head to toe snow camo, he sat down 5 yards away from me and just stared for what seemed like an eternity then got up and left. Another time I was in a natural blind I made hunting elk, when the bush's behind me exploded with noise I thought a monster was coming in. Then a couple grouse came walking into view, they walked so close I could of likely hit them with the end of my rifle. Something came into my Peripheral vision and it was a cat a full speed, the chickens went to fly but too late for one as the lynx batted it out of the air. It then grabbed its dinner and returned the direction it came from. Definitely one of the coolest things I've seen while being in the woods.
