M-14 mags

I've never found any M-14 mag to be problematic and it's always been consistent feeding: they seem to be very strong and reliable. Is there anyone out there who has had bad M-14 mags?

So you've had a few failers then.

I have 2 bad M14s mags out of 6

They dont seem to seet all the way and fail to lock.

But it only seems not lock when the bolt is locked back

Problem solved. Just needed a little filing.

Tha nub was a little to low on the mag, nice and tight now.

6 good mags here.

One of my 5-round mags won't even fit properly in the gun. It's a little tight going into the well but not any worse than my 5/20. Getting it to lock in requires a really hard slap or two and once it's in you literally need pliers to get it back out. It seems identical specs to my other mags by eye, but they function perfectly.

I should really get around to fixing or replacing it...

Most of the time when an M14 mag doesn't seat properly it's because the square little stub that's spot welded onto it is a little too high up to engage the mag release. A little filing and it's all good.

Spring replacements from Wolf made it all good boss.

I number my mags and track their performance/issues. No Failures since replacements.

Had no problem with the Made in China mag but the USGI one I had to file the square tab to make it fit
