Well,
if we are to have Italian made M14 rifles arriving in Canuckistan,
hopefully with better bolts and tighter .308 Win headspace,
how about TWO models.
1.] the usual ho hum 22" classic model for the miltary collecter and target shooter
2.] The frisky, fast handling shorty model with 18 3/4" barrel, short FLASH HIDER [ OR BETTER YET, THREADED 1/2" x 28 for my favorite AR style .30 cal Muzzle Brake] for
Hunters, practical shooters, and all the smart people.
And option # 2 would save me having to chop up so many M14 barrels.
I've made up about 5 Dozen of these shorties over the years, because a shortened M14 makes so much more sense than the full length M14 rifles.
I see PolyTech offers an 18" barreled FACTORY made version in New Zealand.
Why no one has offered a factory made 18 3/4" barreled M14 in Canada, is a total mystery to me.
LAZ 1,
making shorty M14 rifles since the 1980's
