the m14docter makes nice custom carbon fiber stocks

Correction ;)
Ingram Custom Rifleworks of BC , Canada is the manufacturer of the stocks I have had in the marketplace for the past 3 years. MY CGN name and dealer account is M14Doctor until June 30th 2012.... Then the M14Doctor name will go dark on CGN (and all other sites)
All riflesmithing and custom stocks that have been offered with the CGN dealer account M14Doctor are in fact Ingram Custom Rifleworks builds and stocks.
My email address may change as well.
M14doctor@hotmail.com is how I can be reached at this time.
I am NOT M14doctor.com, that domain is owned by a former associate, who may or may not use the name after I cease the use of it.

If you want to make it look more like a battle rifle (wood) check out boyds gun stocks.
Just google it, it will come up. They ship to Canada under a certain amount.
I picked up an unfinished M1A walnut stock for about $92 shipped. That was a ways back though. There was a sale on at the time.
I finished it myself by hand.
Turned out awesome!

Green? Is that painted or factory? I know that the current M14's from Zhina are black plastic or desert digital (filmed over) or that duck hunting camo pattern (filmed over). Never seen a green one yet.

Yup, treeline is your place for USGI wood or glass stocks. Ingram makes that high-zoot carbon fiber versions and then M14.ca makes the blackfeather chassis. Lots of choices.

Cheers,
Barney

There's wood stocks and synthetic every day on the EE ... sign up and view or post a WTB ad?!

There is an awesome thread on painting your stock.could go that route.
Plus ICR does custom jobs on the factory stocks now.

Yup, I've machined up a new stock adaptor that we are imbedding to the chinese plastic stocks.
Was actually a client request for me to try it and it worked so well, I had some adaptors adjusted for the task.
I'm not actively advertising the mod but we are set up to do it and the turn around is surprisingly fast.
I have some pics I might post after tomorrow's range day.

Here is a pic of the assembled Boyds stock I finished myself:

Just a stock Norc M14 with M1A rear sights, shimmed gas system, tac welded op rod guide and of course the walnut
Like I said, you can't beat the wood look on an M14.
They were literally made for eachother ;)

I prefer synthetic stocks on all my rifles for functional reasons:ninja:, but I will have to say that's one nice looking Norc against that snow backdrop. And I'd agree that the M14 is one pretty rifle with a wood stock.

There's a nice Springfield Walnut stock and handguard in the EE right now for a great price! ;)

Please allow me to ask a couple of related questions here, since I am also deliberating on this issue right now.

- Does Ingram Custom Rifleworks have a website?
- Where can I see pics of their stocks?
- Does any body know the weight of the Boyds walnut stock vs the GI synthetic stock?
- How do they compare weight wise to the synthetic boat anchor that my shorty came equipped with?
- Which stock will allow easier accurizing of my shorty?

I want to get rid of the factory stock because it is way too heavy and much too thick and square for my taste. Also, a plastic stocked Norinco M305 shorty that weights the same as my walnut stocked Garand is just ridiculous.

I like the functionality of the synthetic stock but like even more the looks of a walnut stock on an M14. And, since I am not fighting any wars with my shorty, I don’t think the plastic will be much more useful than the wood. However, if plastic will make it lighter, then that’s the stock I want.

Decisions, decisions... :(

Your wood gives me wood. And yea, woth a stock like that, you owe your pride and joy a photo shoot. :)

I'm personally just totally in love with this laminate stock:

That's a wild pattern man!

Where did you get the initial laminate stock? Or is it a custom job?

Cheers!
It's not mine... Just a picture of one I found online. I believe it is a boyds though.

I'd like some answers to GunLovers questions though.

Travis, what's the weight difference between the wood and original synthetic stock?

Ingram Custom Rifleworks is owned and operated by myself, Thomas Ingram.
The decision to not have a website was mine. This is due to the huge volume of interest which I feel would exceed my capacity to manage once a website came online.
The website, however, is in the works.
There are many pics on CGN , do a search with these keywords. M14S-CQB , M14SA2 and M14SE2.

As for stock weights, I have posted these elsewhere but I'll try and find for you all.

Some stock weights that folks might find interesting.
First thing to note is a metal m14 buttplate weighs 11 oz.

Usgi fiberglass, as issued, unmodified with sling loops and buttplate 2LBS 14oz.

Polytech plastic with it's metal hardware including buttplate 3LBS 3oz

Chinese mystery wood with metal hardware including buttplate 2LBS 11oz

Boyds type 1 with metal hardware and buttplate 2LBS 12oz

Promag Archangel 3LBS 13oz

Ingram Custom Rifleworks M14SA2 , standard forstock, bipod rail, M1A rubber buttpad and sling studs 3LBS 9oz

Ingram Custom Rifleworks M14SE2 with bipod rail, M14 buttplate and standard m14 sling loops 3LBS 11oz

Ingram Custom Rifleworks M14SCQB with commercial 6 position buttstock kit, Hogue rubber A2 grip and 12" aluminum picatinny rail 3LBS on the button.

Here' a recent pic of the M14SA2 with NM standard forstock(top), the M14S-CQB and the M14SE2(bottom) .
