M-14b

What are some of the possible reasons, that we can speculate about, for the delays to this shipment? We haven't really heard what the reason was as to why they aren't coming (at least I havent found any reason as to why). We can only speculate right?

John could be waiting to get a certain number of pre-orders before ordering this product. If this was the case, I'd like to know. I'd step up the quantity on my order and I'm sure many others would to support this buy.

Deliver could be blocked politically and the rifles could be sitting on a dock somewhere.

Perhaps Norinco cant produce the order for some internal reason.

The boat was hijacked by pirates!

<insert other speculation here>

I think what i'm getting at is that if we were given a logical excuse as to why the m305 rifles aren't already en-route when they were advertised for pre-order and arriving in May/June originally, we would be less antsy about it and complain less. Treat us like adults, let us know what the issue is, and i'm sure we'd accept it as truth and be much more forgiving. Communication with your customers is key...

+1...Little pissed off that we weren't given an explanation, nor reasonable timeframe for delivery. If I knew when to expect the rifles I'd pre-order another to go with the first.

If there was any info to post, I'm sure it would be here.

The real question is how can there not me any info?

I'm sure John has a decent chunk of change tied up in this transaction.
As such, I would imagine he would be interested in knowing the status of his investment....

Now the value of that investment may not be enough to justify weekly/daily updates, but surely in the last 6 months he has found out something relating to this shipment?

The last post from Johnone on this thread that involved dates was criticizing Blueflash for suggesting that the shipment might not be in for another two months... posted in JULY:

johnone said:
BLUEFLASH;
"but it seems like 2 months from now is probably going to be more realistic"

WHo told you that ?

John

So, I was wrong, it has been 5 months without an update.... apologies...

But I stand by my initial assessment, surely something has happened in the last FIVE months with respect to this shipment?

Matt

There'd be a lot more upset if Marstar shut its doors. Hang in there folks, they want to sell us guns even more than we wanna buy them.

Marstar Canada ‎@Rob Dunnett The factory has promised them for January.

Thanks for the info Marstar !.. Like you, I cross my fingers !

They have lots of these rifles at other CGN dealers.. many at xmas prices close to Marstar and two even came with 2 mags (20 & 5, the other had 2 - 5 rnd ). NEITHER had a free case, and both were at least $20 higher in price.

I am going to wait for Marstar. John made reference some months back that he had "concerns" about the quality, and was waiting for the new rectified products before selling to us. I am going to wait for the potentially superior product in Jan (hopefully.. fingers crossed) and see.

Boy where have I herd that before

LMAO

Honestly, I'm waiting because of the good service I've received from Marstar in the past, the Guarantee and because I really don't need another gun...

...but I am feeling a bit impatient....

I just want an update, and hey, if a facebook update is the best we are gonna get, I'll take it... looks like I need some better gloves, i'm going shooting in January :D

(or february, or march... or... )

bottom line for me is I already have a lot of toys. I am eagerly anticipating this rifle for almost a year like the rest of you, but I am ok as long as it comes at some point FOR SURE, and there is actually some real improvement in fit, finish, or function that I have been waiting for this past 10 months or so.

The result of this transaction will determine whether I spend thousands of dollars there in the future. If, in the end, it is revealed they have dealt with me in a straight and honest fashion through the whole m14 wait.. then I will be the most loyal and regular client ever.. because I like their store and their products.

If I wait for a year and its the same rifle everyone else stocks, that I could have got 8 months back from elsewhere for 20 bucks more, sans the case, then I will be really disappointed, and will spend future money accordingly.

This is my first dealing with Marstar, other than for parts, which were on time and as advertised.. and at a good price. So far so good! In near future I want a Norc .22 mauser clone, an AIA match enfield, a o/u skeet shottie, and a new pistol for defensive pistol.. not sure which is best for me yet, amongst a thousand accessories for all the stuff I do have (missed the boat on much of the nifty 1911 stuff.sigh :)

If only you could get me a sweet deal on a Dillon 650 xl lol

also .. I am really tempted to snag one of those little AP66 .32 ppk clones. Under 100 bucks!! You are such a tease Marstar.. :)

I wondered the same thing aloud several pages back in this thread, and was informed that this is not an improved run, just a lower priced batch with a nifty hard case.

Happy Holidays John, any word on the shipment? Reason I'm asking is I have a line on an M1A stock I'd like to buy, and I'm wondering if I should go for it or just wait.

halfway through Jan... I am beginning to get disheartened. I will wait till the end of the month, and then I cant wait anymore.. at least not without some concrete news of the whereabouts of this shipment. I have been looking at the stock, scope mount and mags I bought last May, and they are covered in dust. It is high time to slip them on something more comfortable.. even if it costs an extra 20 bucks :)

No mention on facebook since early December..

doesn't badger arms have the m14 for $430 with a hard case too? Not sure how it differs from the awaited load.

Holy s**t, some guys posting here are like children having a temper tantrum and screaming "I wan' it! I wan' it! I wan' it!" The shipment will arrive when it does. Complaining about it will do nothing to get it here any faster.

Waiting is marginally better than the other way.
It's been my experience that some days I see a firearm that looks interesting, I spend a short amount of time pondering it, and when I decide I want it I discover that it'll never be available in Canada ever again, or if it is the price will be double. It's led me to the axiom: if you see something you want, buy it right then, because in ten minutes it won't be available.
(My girlfriend tells me it's the same with women's clothing.)

This quite literally defines Marstar as of late. Their shipment of Norinco M4s were touted as the best thing ever. John extolled the virtues of waiting months for their shipment to come in and how they will somehow be better than everyone else's, will be priced lower, are hand-picked, whatever. Then many months later when they FINALLY arrive they are no different than everyone else's who had them far sooner, and at the exact same price.

Yay Marstar. Stop touring the factories and work on getting your product here faster. If you're such a powerhouse in the arms industry why is your competition beating you to the shores by months or years in advance?
