I have a M-305 and used to use use a spray dry moly on the receiver lugs, bolt, operating rod and rod guide.I've decided to try and finish a project, Norinco M14s receiver with TRW parts. Is dry moly acceptable as a lube or should I go with a lite coating of moly based grease? After 14 years away from shooting the M-14 I'm looking forward to trying out this M-305/TRW combination and have some catching up to do on lubing and some other changes that may have happened. In the old days, I preferred the dry moly lube as it did not retain dust or other contaminates . It was a real stinker to get off anything it got on to!

Use vasoline....is clear and works well against rain and snow besides making the gun work great. Have used it for over 25 years in northern BC taking guns out on the ocean.
