M 305 Newbie Question Please be Gentle

Got my Shorty a week ago when I was away. Got her unpacked and cleaned up and greased and brought her out to shoot. My question is about the iron sights. Never used this kind before and not quite sure how to. Maybe someone could kindly help out a Newbie. I don't really understand the markings on either the elevation or windage knobs. Any help is much appreciated :) I had a target set up at 100 yards to start into it but instead I just popped a bunch into the field at about 25 yards and got a eyeball full of oil after the first one lol
 
Oh cool thanks for sending me that. That's a big help can't wait to try her out now. What an exciting piece of work this gun is !!!!
