I'm in the market for a finished M305 which has been made into a "shorty" version.
Considering how much can be changed/augmented on these things:

What price range should I be looking at for a complete rig?

Thanx gang.

Above the basic/box stock Chinese rifle [ Minimum $ 450 after shipping/taxes ]
Figure approximately :
REQUIRED:
$ 50 for Gunsmith inspection to check headspace and bolt fit and other issues.
$ 100 for a front sight that fits on the gas assembly
$ 50 for shoprtening barrel and/or reindexing
$ 150 for threading muzzle for flash hider and installing Vortex FH
$ 25 for USGI op rod spring and long op rod guide retaining pin
$ 100 for USGI Fiberglass stock

OPTIONAL:
USGI Bolt add another $ 250
[ NOTE: some of the older Chinese will NOT take a drop in GI bolt and will also require a GI barrel
USGI Barrel add another $ 250
MAGS 20/5 - Chinese $50 - $60 ea
- USGI $ 75 - 85 ea
After that, the sky is the limit.

Perfect, Lazerus!

That's exactly what I was looking for. Now I can compare the price of all the bits and pieces, to that of a built unit for sale in the exchange forums.

Thanx muchly, Laz'!

I bought my M305, had it shortened, headspaced, threaded and installed a regular AR15 birdcage flash hider for 100 bucks total.

It cost me an extra 20 bucks because the bolt I had was out of spec so the guy went and GOT one for me, headspaced it and gave it back. 120 bucks total.

Shop around.

Kevin Keon of Dycor. Edmonton, AB. Must call, and its not through his work, he does it all on the side. You must call as he's not much into computers.

Actually, Dycor Special Services, were Kevin does the gunsmithing is a regular business, not on the side.
We just pick different hours!

p.s. I do know how to run a computer, Kevin runs the lathe!

i got a question WHY WOULD YOU WONT TO MAKE A SHORTY M-305 is there any advantage???? you shure wouldent get the groups, speed, fpe that would in a longer bbr rifle so what would be the point is it MUZZLE FLASH???? or weight or something????

Shortening the barrel would only effect your velocity. minimal accuracy issues if you are reloading. Just find a new load to meet the harmonics of the now cut barrel. Accuracy is more about the way the chamber is cut. you might even have better accuracy. The gun is shorter. makes it a better carry carbine in the field. I prefer it shorter. Scout is the only way to go. Great for a 300 yard gun. Most people only shoot that far.
