M-4 carbines....

I think mine is 1982 not sure if that's correct but it is stamped under bayonet lug and there is a number on receiver 001982-13. My handle has nothing written on it whereas the guy who posted the pic above has 5.56-223. On the mag well mine only days 5.56. Owners manual is dated 2006. So maybe there are good ones and less good ones in the lot?

Controls are ambidextrous, safety and mag release, mags drop free.

The other thing is I can't find the full auto selector switch the manual talks about? :(. The manual is a riot. Pay close attention to page 3.

See if the pic works

Make sure you disassemble it and clean as well. There is paper in flash hider, quite obvious unless somehow you miss it and there is a piece of paper in the bolt as well.
Note as well some guys were saying you get a hard case there is none, the chips on the rifle appear to be from rubbing in the cardboard box and were probably not there before shipping.

Just got mine today, I was under the impression they were supposed to be anodized lower, mine is chipped and looks like it is painted or something. Maybe someone can clear this up? I thought I saw a pic of this one or the other manufacturers one that was anodized.

I bought mine from another seller, the upper was painted black. I used lacquer thinner to remove the paint and it worked perfectly.

See what you mean, where my scratch is it looks kinda bronze/gold underneath you seem to have a different upper with the 223 marked on it as well. What date is yours? Do you have the 001982-13 on the mag well?

I remember reading somewhere that the older ones were parkerized and that finish would chip off easy, the newer ones I believe are anodized (if you look at the marstar description it says park and anodized), not sure what parts are parkerized and what's anodized though?

Are these new stock or older stock that they're trying to clear (hence the sale)?

You can not parkerize Aluminum. The Phosphoric Acid will eat away the aluminum.

Uhhh that is your serial number, the 13 is the year it was made.
Aluminium gets anodized, or painted I guess on occasion, steel gets parkerized. Anodizing should be tougher then that and not chip away....it can be worn down but should never chip if done properly.

I've worked with anodized alum before commercial storefronts and I've never seen it chipped, I am aware you can scratch it through the anodizing and get bare aluminum.

Hopefully John or one of his staff will answer this. I wouldn't want to take paint thinner to it and end up with bare aluminum at this point.

Mine arrived in a plastic bag that was opened. I found both pieces of paper. I added my pre-owned scope and a set of LAR-15 mags. Looks good but I need to take it to the range to test.

So far John, good deal.

Just reread this and need to add. It was properly boxed. In the box was a plastic bag. I.E. it was properly packaged.

I know its been said already BUT...This price was too good to pass up.

This is my first AR...from China. I am hoping it will play nicely with her older American sisters who hail from Washington, Connecticut & North Carolina. At first I too was worried about getting her in past the wife, then I remembered she walked out a month ago. Things have been ever so much nicer since and I am already ordering a 2nd vault.

Ok shot it some today 55yds, iron sights Winchester white box. 2" 4 shot group from bench. Sights set as low as they will go about 3"-4" high at that distance, smallest aperture. Trigger is creepy and heavy but this is my first ar and from what I understand most are. I am sure group would be better with optics but don't have any extra high rings kicking around. One of the rounds got off on me (trigger broke before expecting it) otherwise would have been 7/8" with 2 in one hole. I'd like to hear from someone with some optics how well it shoots. No Failure to fire, load, eject. Both mags seem to work well.
